When I first met Melina & Joey I knew we were going to capture some magic. They are such positive, lively & friendly people that their wedding day will forever be remembered as one of my favorites!

When you think of a September wedding in southern Ontario you may be expecting warm weather, but this day was like the peak of summer! M&J were originally planning on having their ceremony at the Pondside, but with the blaring sun & 30+ degree (celcius) weather that day we had to switch gears to the venue’s indoor space – which was still gorgeous so no complaints here!

What I loved most about this day was how easygoing and slow paced it was. We never felt rushed and we kept “posed” portraits to a minimum so that the majority of this day was captured candid/documentary style – my personal favourite!

Pondside - An outdoor ceremony space accommodating up to 250 guests. Set in front of a tranquil pond surrounded by trees, you will literally feel at one with nature. Also conveniently located beside their “Pond Terrace” for cocktail hour and/or reception.

The Barn - An indoor ceremony space that can accommodate up to 120 guests. Perfect for those seeking a little bit of rustic charm with beautiful exposed beams, warm lighting and a big barn door to open for some fresh air and natural light.

Couples planning their wedding at Mount Alverno also have access to versatile spaces for cocktail hours and receptions. You can choose from the open-air ambiance of the Pond Terrace or the historical magic of Thompson Hall – aka the adorable chapel mentioned earlier!

The Pond Terrace - A large covered terrace located near the pond that can accommodate up to 280 guests. Enjoy the beauty of nature surrounding the terrace while also indulging in the grandeur of the building’s architecture and design.

Thompson Hall - This cozy chapel turned wedding banquet hall is quite possibly my favorite among all the spaces. This one of a kind room can accommodate up to 80 guests. It features vaulted ceilings, brick walls, & original vintage flooring and lighting – literally my heaven. Let the pictures below speak for themselves!

**BONUS** The Conservatory - Expected to open soon at Mount Alverno, and you really don’t want to miss it! This space is set to be the largest and most elegant/magical space on the property. With floor to ceiling windows & a glass roof, you will be able to enjoy the sun, sunset and night sky all from the comfort of your wedding reception - how cool is that!? Q: Is there parking available for guests?

A: Yes! There is ample parking available to accommodate all of your guests, no matter the event size. There is also plenty of accessible parking available close to the venue!

Q: Are there guest accommodations available?

A: To accommodate out of town guests or simply those who wish to stay the night, Mount Alverno has 22 rooms available on the property for your guests to book. The resort also features a large dining area for morning breakfast.

Q: Is catering available?

A: Mount Alverno has an on-site chef & culinary team to help you build a custom wedding day menu. They also offer seasonal sample menus that source ingredients from local farms.

Q: What happens if it rains on my wedding day?

A: Rain or shine, this venue is prepared to support you to have the best day ever! If you’ve planned for a Pondside ceremony, Mount Alverno is very accommodating to move your ceremony to one of their beautiful indoor locations. Additionally, the resort supplies enclosed golf carts & covered passenger carts to navigate the grounds while also staying dry.
